By popular demand, we’ve brought back our well-known FD100E-TD frame—now as a variant of the E900 for our Elektriker e-bike.

“TD” stands for “tiefer Durchstieg” – meaning low step-through. This makes getting on and off the Elektriker significantly easier. While the Elektriker is relatively lightweight compared to many e-bikes on the market, it’s still heavier than a non-electric bike. That extra weight, especially when carrying cargo, can make mounting and dismounting more difficult.
With the low step-through, there’s no need to tilt the bike, and you can forget about awkward leg gymnastics to get over the top tube. Many people also feel safer with a lower standover height—especially when stopping. If you plan to mount a child seat, the low step-through design is a huge advantage.
Our E900-TD frame offers the necessary stability for this comfortable geometry.

One Frame, Many Build Options
All drivetrains we offer for the Elektriker are compatible with the E900-TD frame—both mechanical and electronic (Di2). You can choose between a Shimano chain drivetrain or a Rohloff internal gear hub.

What’s especially exciting:
The TD frame will soon be available for the first time with the mechanical version of the new 3×3 internal gear hub, and this bike will be called the E3D. If you're riding mostly in flatter urban terrain, the 3×3 9-speed is a very attractive, cost-effective alternative (more info on the drivetrain coming soon).

Even the drop-bar version (E2R) is compatible with this frame—though only with Di2.

You can now find the TD frame as a size variant of the E900 in our configurator.
Together with a velotraum dealer near you, you can select the perfect spec and color combo for your dream Elektriker.

Naturally, your visit will also include a full fitting and ergonomic adjustment, so that not only getting on and off the bike becomes effortless, but riding it is pure joy.
